A little letter from Mom:
Dear Elder Beadle,
So many people have told me that they pray for you every day. Including grandmas and grandpas and MarDiene. We saw her last night. She's been praying for you for years and we know how that's turned out so... :) she's still praying for you. Also... there was a pretty girl who brought me two purple pens today at church because she knows you like purple pens. <3 <3

This Wednesday I have a Dr. appt. This will kind of let us know how things are going. Hopefully we've got some bone growth on my shin. Maybe you could say some specific prayers for that. Also, on the way home from dropping you at the airport, I got a wild hair, pulled over and called Weber State(I'M GOING TO COLLEGE!!!) . You should come to Weber State with me when you get home. I talked to Lauren tonight at Marilee's birthday party. She's helping me register. She's awesome that way. Now I just have to figure out how I'm going to pay for this.
I'm so excited to hear about your week. Give me some details. Have you had a chance to go to the temple? Do you have everything you need? I sent a little box last week. But apparently I have to send another one soon because you left your CTR rings here. And ya know, the purple pens.
Are you able to look at the blog? I am trying to keep it simple because it would be really awesome to document your whole mission.
I love you so much. You are missed. Keep the faith, my Elder.
Love, Mom >(:/:)<
yeah, let me know. I hope serving the Lord will help with your leg. that would be awesome. also, thank you so much for the prayers. they've been wonderful. i've felt them.
that's cool! maybe I will go to weber. dunno. hope they have a good music program or something. that would be awesome.
no chance to go to the Preston temple yet. it's being cleaned for the next two weeks. thankfully I'll have three weeks here in the MTC, so we will be able to go the last week. p-day is on Tuesday here in the Preston MTC.
some details: i'm district leader. I have one companion who can't stop flirting with the sisters for three minutes. I love my comp, and i realize that that's a story I've created. letting it go haha. my other companion is Elder Chand, from Fiji. it took him three days to get here with delays and such. it was crazy. got here all red eyed, hadn't slept much at all. i was able to give him a blessing just barely for his back because he hurt it during basketball. it was awesome.
being district leader, we've got some time to specifically speak to our districts. I shared that through the atonement, the Lord empties our lives, essentially helping us unbecome what we've become so that he can make us who we need to be n stuff. it was great.
After the trip here, I was sick, feeling incredibly nauseated. debilitatingly so. the food didn't help either. it all felt fake. tasted fake. anyway, some of the elders who will be serving in Germany offered to give me a blessing. much needed. the sickness still lasted two more days, but drastically less intense. it's gone now.
my class teachers are great. probably the greatest. I love them so much. their names are Brother Peel and Brother Webb.
i really do understand my comp's struggle with flirting. there is one sister in our district who is... wayyy attractive and wayyy spiritual. i'll probably marry her when i get off my mission. haha. crushin' on her a little bit, but that's NOT why I am here! i'm focused on giving the Lord all of my heart right now.
we get to go to town today. and yeah, i'm buying toothpaste with fluoride in it... i know i know. but elmo just doesn't keep my breathe smelling or tasting nice at all... also suits here are supposedly really cheap. 30 pounds or something. don't know why.
also, it's not cold here at all. what do you think? send you back one of my jackets? give it to another elder?
more later from Wade: Went to town today. bought stuff, went to kfc. love the elders here. I love my teachers. it's so foggy here, i love it. these pictures don't give it any justice. it was kind of cold. i needed a hat to keep my ears warm. though, to be fair, i will be traveling further north where it's colder. maybe i will wait until then to see if i should send my coat back. all the cars are so small. still getting used to the whole driving on the left thing. also, double decker busses just make sense.
making friends here is pretty easy. everyone is nice. i'm missing my constant ability to practice piano. gotta make sure my companion wants to be there too. so i usually end up eating quickly and then just playing the piano in the cafeteria.
love you, mom
response from Mom: I will put the important and interesting stuff on the blog. At least I hope it will be interesting. It is interesting to me.

Brother Peel's name tag, obviously |
I like seeing both sides of the conversation - it makes more sense to know what he's responding to ;)
ReplyDeleteIn terms of the capitalization, he's probably just being lazy.
LOVE YOU!!!!
We kept a running list of the good movies that came out while JD was gone. I just tucked in the front pocket of the binder I kept. Ben said his mission, great though it was, was a cultural black hole, and movies were the thing he felt most out of it about.
ReplyDeleteSo excited he's doing well. Tell him to keep the coat - every area is different and honestly by the time he pays for shipping to send the coat back you could pay for a new one. It's not like shipping in the states. He's going to be great!
