I moved to redcar! I'm now with Elder Monroe. He is such a homie. Awesome missionary. We are killing it. 4th day here. On my 2nd day, we found 2 new investigators, and scheduled them a date for baptism! 2 new and 2 scheduled! What's hilarious is that we both had only been in the area that week for 2 days, because last p day, Elder Monroe's comp broke his leg, so he was all over the place in hospitals and everything. Then we had zone conference. Then we came to our area!
We've really been working on thinking two, or #TT as President Turvey says. 2 new, 2 scheduled, 2 at church, which all leads up to 2 baptised a week! He told us that he needs someone who will believe him. I couldn't raise my hand...
So on that note, this week I'm working on faith and expectation!
hahahaha
I love you. I am so grateful for you.
Thank yous so much.
Here is a picture of some people that we ran into, Elder Monroe and I. They are stoned out of their mind haha. He's got a rabbit in his hood, and they told us that they always have to take a selfie when they meet the "Jesus people." So we did. Lolz.
Love you. Keep the faith, keep growing.

I don't write to my parents but sometimes I send pictures.

Still in love with Tesla

I did send an instant message, tho:
so cute! Sorry for the short email today. Had to do quite a bit of recording for a musical item that we are doing for the Christmas party 😛
My bro dyreng was young!

I've been sustained by prayers this past week. It's been a little rough. As I've felt down, I could feel them.

Mom. I'm in an area known to cripple missionaries. I can't let that happen. O that I were an angel.... my vision of what I must accomplish, my purpose, who I am to be, MUST stand clear as a beacon, penetrating the smog of doubt, fear, and rejection.

I'm going to miss Ben. I wish I could hang out with him. Let him rub off more on me. Hey, Marvin as well.

Sorry to hear about all the deaths.

Tell Dad I love him. I'm ever so grateful for him.

I love this gospel, mom. I feel as one of the prophets in the BoM (can't remember who it was right now lol). My eyes water my pillow at night because the people's hearts are so hardened.

You can tell I live in the poshest area in the mission. Lol. Wharfe Valley is legit. Too bad we haven't been able to find the people who own the cars and ask for a ride... Hahaha. What's great is that the member missionary work is fantastic! The members in Wharfe Valley have strong testimonies and aren't afraid to share what the gospel has done for them!

Life is great. You probably saw on Facebook, Ella got baptized!! Mission life is always exciting, yet the same. We listened to a live broadcast to the Europe area from Elder Ballard last night. Man, it was awesome. He talked about member missionary work. How it really is as simple as sharing what the gospel has done for you. Which is a lot :P but! It makes a seemingly insurmountable task incredibly simple :)

I love you guys. I want you to know that I love you.

Oh man. The temple is so cool. I found some pictures of when I was going to the temple a lot before I left, and I look so happy! Haha. But really,

the temple is the happiest place on earth.

Don't know if you guys heard, but now we can go to the temple if we have a recent convert and it's their first time. For either baptisms or endowments!
I heard that Reid Wuthrich passed away... Oh man. He's a good man.

Yeah, they usually have the mission home firesides at President Turvey's house, which is in Leeds right now. So I haven't been able to go to one.

Technically speaking, transfers are in 2 weeks, but I am being transferred early to go up to

                                       Wharfe Valley.

It's in Leeds. I can't find it on a map, but I know it's close to Bradford, Keighley, and Leeds. Elder Tsosie will be my companion! It's going to be great. I've served around him before, and he makes some great fry bread!

As a missionary, you find and teach all sorts of people with all different beliefs. Right now we're teaching a bloke who is absolutely convinced that the earth is flat, after watching over 10 hours of YouTube videos on the subject. He is also hesitant to come to church because he found stuff that says that Mormons are Free Masons. Gah. Did you ever deal with that on your mission, Dad? Regardless, I love it here in Sheffield. It's like my second home. I know just about everyone we pass on the streets now. It's going to be like leaving home all over again.

I love The Book of Mormon. It is so powerful! I need to read it everyday for it to be a great day!

The mission is amazing. I love you,

Baptizing Muhammed

Sunset in England
Church out in Woodhouse... not one of ours, but still really cool.
Baptizing Muhammed
The fog this morning!
City Center. Hoping it wouldn't be bombed. :(
Brother McEwen, our ward mission leader, after he made us a pretty lit barbecue.

Haha don't worry if you forget to email me. I'm honestly fine haha(yes, I forgot to email him on Sunday, but usually he doesn't email me til later on Monday anyway, but I woke up to a letter this week... and I was able to write him back while he was still online)

CPR, to revive any of the spiritually dying.

I did meet Ace(Our neighbor's cat)! Are he and Abby friends now(uh... no. Abby is an indoor cat)?? Yeah karlee is perfect for that(taking care of cats for people)!

Hmm. Homecoming Series... is it pretty good?? How do you mean it's like the book of mormon(It's just a story very similar to the story in The Book of Mormon. OSC is a master storyteller, so it's awesome to read, but a little... earthy)?

We had a bunch of investigators drop us, but we're doing fine. We baptized Muhammed, peace be upon him ;)

“Faith in Christ is inextricably tied to and results in hope in Christ for our redemption and exaltation. And assurance and hope make it possible for us to walk to the edge of the light and take a few steps into the darkness—expecting and trusting the light to move and illuminate the way."

I'm getting better at basketball. Actually pretty decent. Helps that Elder Boswell is a master and is teaching me(Who are you and what have you done with my genes?).

I love you so much, Mom. I can hardly express it(I love you too, baby!)

Small and Simple Things

a quote from conference:

"I have observed that those who are deliberate about doing the “small and simple things”—obeying in seemingly little ways—are blessed with faith and strength that go far beyond the actual acts of obedience themselves and, in fact, may seem totally unrelated to them. It may seem hard to draw a connection between the basic daily acts of obedience and solutions to the big, complicated problems we face. But they are related. In my experience, getting the little daily habits of faith right is the single best way to fortify ourselves against the troubles of life, whatever they may be. Small acts of faith, even when they seem insignificant or entirely disconnected from the specific problems that vex us, bless us in all we do."

The Lord is incredible. It's remarkably simple. Just follow the Savior, do what He's asked you to do. The guidance you receive from personal prayers are you personal commandments. If you don't follow the answers you receive, you close yourself not only to future guidance, but you close the windows of heaven, bit by bit.
The work is great. We struggle to get people to church right now. Other than that, we should be baptising a Kurdish bloke named Muhammed this Saturday,  and then another Kurdish bloke named Dilshad the week after! But we have 12 new investigators or summit like that!
Esmaiel, baptized a couple monf ago. Wearing my badge and bag

getting a haircut? finally. JK. I think this is his second haircut.
I love this work. It is so much fun! I'm learning so much from elder Fife. He's such a good bloke! I love this gospel, I love missionary work. The Savior is able to empty our lives of all our misdeeds, and so He is able to FILL it with the things of a better world, the actions, the desires. All this can be ours, if we but choose to follow the Savior. To quote Shia LaBeouf, "Just do it!"
"Ever hear of Spencer W. Kimball?" I asked him. :)
